Something to think about…

September 30, 2011

Isn’t man an amazing animal? He kills wildlife by the millions in order to protect his domestic animals and their feed. Then he kills domestic animals by the billions and eats them. This in turn kills man by the millions cause eating all those animals leads to degenerative – and fatal- health conditions like heart disease, kidney disease and cancer. So then man tortures and kills millions more animals to look for cures for these diseases. Elsewhere, millions of other human beings are killed by hunger and malnutrition because food they could eat is being used to fatten domestic animals. Meanwhile, some people are dying of sad laughter at the absurdity of man, who kills so easily and so violently, and once a year sends out cards praying for “Peace on Earth”.

Me, Me, Me

September 25, 2011

I’m just so sick and tired of meeting travelers that just talk about themselves constantly. You don’t even ask them anything or seem interested but it’s like they’ve been locked in a cave for weeks and you are the first person they run into and they have so much to tell you. So annoying, so time-consuming, energy-stealing. I even left a vegan cooking class in Bangkok because of a american guy coming in too late to sit next to me and just talk about himself. Did it ever cross he’s little mind that no-one cares where he’s been, where’s he’s going, details about his trips, just random information about himself. No-one answered, no-one even cared but he just kept going. Not only travelers do this. A woman in a yoga class in India did something very similar but almost worse. She inturrepted me in my meditation to ask where I was from (only to be able to start a dialogue) and then just kept talking about her daughter that moved to London and have a very fine degree in who cares. I just laid down in Savasana closing my eyes to give her a hint about me not wanting to talk. She didn’t get it, at all! When I went quit and stopped answering, she just continued about her daughter again. Crazy!! I don’t know what’s wrong with people sometimes.

Copenhagen- Malmo

July 8, 2011

The trip is coming to an end and the last stop is Copenhagen and the last dance. We ended up in the meat packing district of Copen (party area) and met up with some friends to the guys. I have only been to Copenhagen for Fashion week but I really like the city. I never had a boring minute here and not this time either. This crazy night seemed never ending.

I took the early morning train to Malmo and literally crashed at Mimmi’s. Malmo is so cosy and I love staying a Mimmi’s place eating her mom’s organic veggies straight from the garden.

Road Trip

July 4, 2011

I had so much fun with the guys from Vasteras so I joined them on their European Road trip.

Me and Emil are sitting in the back of the car sipping wine and eating chocolate.

We dont’t have a map or Gps so we’re just going after our feeling. We’re on our way to Netherlands and Amsterdam but it’s taking a lot of time. There’s no words to describe our face expressions when we drove by the “Welcome to Belgium” sign. We drove to the wrong country, hilarious!!

Stockholm City

June 16, 2011

There’s nothing like coming home, to breath fresh swedish air, to walk on newly cut swedish grass in the park, to wake up with the sun shining and the smells and sounds of being home..the joy of meeting people you missed so much..I’m happy to be home.

Contact Impulse Dancing

May 31, 2011

Me, Natta and Channon spent the afternoon in the park practicing yoga and impulse contact dance. It was so much fun, we were just messing around and rolling around on the grass. Completely crazy. I’ve never been lifted before and the feeling was great. Our impulse contact ended with some basic brazilian capoeira (martial arts dance) that I also tried out in Nepal.

Nature weekend

April 16, 2011

We went back to the hidden place in the the mountains for a two night camping. We went off friday afternoon and a 3 hour mountain-bike ride later (first time ever on MB) we arrived tired and exhausted. It was impossible to bike on the so called road and this farmers son gave us a ride the last bit on his tractor. We find the perfect little spot with a hut where we could keep our bags and rolled out our sleeping bags in the grass. No time to rest since it was almost sunset and we had to run around and collect fire-wood.

If you’re in the Himalayas where it gets very chilly in the nights, you need to know how to make a fire! Not as complicated as I thought it was gonna be. But always good to have an expert with you if it’s the first time. Martin only see the fun in teaching ex-nature-allergic city girls these things. Well, that was after he came over the chock that I’ve never been on a Mountain-bike and had no idea what shiftings was or how to use them 🙂

Breakfast on the rocks after morning meditation

And then swimming and sun-bathing the rest of the day.

Tibetan Medicine

April 12, 2011

I payed a visit to a Tibetan medicine man when I was in Kathmandu and I got three different kinds of pills that I have to chew before breakfast, after lunch and dinner. It’s all made of herbs and natural stuff and I kept asking exactly what was in them but was only met by the answer: herbs and naturals. They do smell like herbs but the taste are really awful, I almost puked first time I took them. I’m not allowed to swallow them either, they have to be chewed. A friend later told me that it’s a mix of herbs but also of cow-shit. Cow-shit!!! Seriously, that’s what I’ve been chewing on and still is. No wonder they taste like shit.

Massage Class

March 22, 2011

Devika is holding Ayurvedic massage classes with the ladies from the woman project and I’m there to assist her. Or to be more specific: Devika is teaching the women how to give Ayurvedic massage and they need to train on me 🙂 So every afternoon this week, I get a lovely massage. Ah, the hard life of a volunteer worker!!

In my Garden…

March 16, 2011

I have a new room now, finally. It’s very small but extremely cosy. My asian style “toilet/ hole” and shower is outside the room, but it’s Ok. Best of all is the garden. The amazing green garden with the flowers. Perfect hang-out for work-free after-noons.
